The Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) hosted a colloquium on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Working Group 1 report (which forms part of the IPCC’s 6th Assessment Report), on 19 August 2021. The Working Group 1 report deals with the physical science basis underpinning climate change, and amongst others has pointed to a faster pace of global warming compared to previous assessments, described by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as a ‘code red for humanity’.
